Description

In Herefordshire and Worcestershire we offer: Information, advice and support to autistic adults As part of our community service, our structured support sessions and group programme (Autism Confident) is available to anyone aged 16+ who identifies as autistic – they may have a diagnosis, awaiting diagnosis, or identify as autistic without having a formal diagnosis. 1:1 sessions are information, advice and guidance based sessions to support an individual through a specific support need. Autism Confident is a 6 week programme for autistic adults, where they can learn about their autism, develop their knowledge and engage in discussions in a small, like-minded group. Both of these services are offered online and in-person. Additionally, we offer social groups in Worcester and Redditch for autistic adults. These groups are open to anyone over the age of 16, who identifies as autistic, and offer a friendly, supportive atmosphere amongst autistic individuals. You can email us for more information or sign up via the relevant links on Eventbrite. We also have an online discussion forum on social media platform Facebook for autistic adults in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to have an online discussion platform. This can be joined here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/awmherefandworcsdiscussion/ During Summer this year we are offering free webinars for parents & carers of children, teenagers, and young people who have been accepted for assessment on the ASD diagnosis pathway or who have received a diagnosis of autism. There are 7 webinars in the block, each covering a different autism topic. Please email us if you would like to register for any of these webinars. We also offer workshops via Microsoft Teams covering topics including Personal Independent Payment and Reasonable Adjustments for autistic adults living in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire area. These workshops are also open to parents/carers and professional supporting autistic adults. After each workshop, all attendees will receive a resource pack relevant to the topics discussed. Check out our Eventbrite page for more details! For those who would like to keep up-to-date with our service, we offer a quarterly newsletter created by our team, with news of events, testimonials, updates etc – it’s a great way to stay connected with us! Our services in this region are funded by NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire. For information about any of the service offers on this page contact us on herefandworcs@autismwestmidlands.org.uk

The Feeding Trust

Description

The Feeding Trust is a charity dedicated to improving the health and life chances of children with developmental feeding difficulties, particularly those with medical and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The UK is making important progress in improving children’s diets through school food, Early Years programmes and national policy initiatives. However, a critical gap remains: Many children, particularly those with SEND, are not able to access or benefit from improved food provision. The Feeding Trust provides the Eating as Learning (EaL) Framework and Curriculum, an inclusive approach to teaching feeding skills through practical food education. Developed with parents, educators and healthcare professionals, EaL supports schools to build children’s feeding skills while strengthening collaboration between education, health care and families. EaL is delivered via: - School / early years training, inclusive food-based education and activities. - Parent coaching, education and community outreach. - Online resources, advice and support

Description

Our Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Service, NEW Lifeline, provides support for people living independent lives. We install equipment into people’s homes that enables them to call into our 24/7 monitoring centre when they need emergency help or extra support. We can monitor the home environment, to keep service users safe, detect a potential fall and find those at risk of wandering. We provide a safety net to our service users and peace of mind to their families. NEW Lifeline is a service provided by Redditch and Bromsgrove Councils, and although there is a subscription for self funding service users, we offer a 6 weeks free, no obligation, service when a referral is made through Refernet. This gives us time to refer the service user for a financial assessment, if appropriate, for a funded service.
